Missing 11-Month-Old Baby Found Dead; Investigators Say It’s Homicide

In a tragic turn of events, an 11-month-old baby was discovered deceased on Monday morning in a secluded area of New Mexico following an extensive overnight search.

The child was reported missing by the mother on Sunday evening, according to KRQE. Authorities have launched a homicide investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death.

The San Juan County Sheriff’s Office reported that the baby was missing late Sunday night and subsequently found dead shortly before 10 a.m. the following day.

“We recognize the profound impact this tragedy has on our community,” stated Sheriff Shane Ferrari. “Our team is diligently working to uncover the facts and identify those responsible for this heartbreaking incident. The public is not in danger.”

Details regarding the circumstances leading to the child’s disappearance remain undisclosed.

The sheriff’s office has requested privacy for the family during this period of grief.

Investigators said they were pursuing the case “relentlessly” and will provide information as it become available.
