Authorities in Florida have launched an investigation following the discovery of a woman and her brother deceased inside Griffin’s General Store in Apopka late Friday evening.
According to a statement from Apopka police, officers were alerted to the scene shortly before 9 p.m., where they discovered the two individuals had passed away.
“Currently, it remains uncertain if the situation is a case of homicide or a potential murder-suicide,” police noted in their report.
Additional details have not been disclosed at this time.
While investigators have not yet revealed the identities of the deceased, the store’s owner told WESH that they were Schneita Swift and her brother Ezra.
Contrary to some reports, the store owner mentioned that Swift was a former employee, though both customers and Swift’s ex-husband informed WKMG that she was currently employed at the store.
“If you know her, she’s going to lift your spirit up — even her brother. They were good people,” said Stanley, who described her as his favorite cashier.
“She was a sweet girl. Her brother was a sweet dude. They didn’t bother anyone,” Kizzy Ward, a longtime friend of the family, told WESH. “They were just lovable people.”
