Authorities successfully located 24-year-old Gabriella Cartagena from Wisconsin on Tuesday, after she had been reported missing earlier this month under worrisome circumstances.

While Cartagena’s family has communicated to ABC 7 that she has passed away, officials have not yet confirmed this information or provided further details on the situation.

The Marinette Police Department expressed their gratitude for community support on their Facebook page, stating, “More information will be released as soon as possible. We would like to thank the entire community for the help we have received.”

A GoFundMe campaign, created by Cartagena’s brother, described her passing as “completely unexpected.”

According to CrimeOnline, Cartagena was last seen on February 4 around 5 p.m. at Red Arrow Park in Marinette, with police classifying her status as “involuntarily missing.”

Robert Chilcote, 29, was apprehended by police following a high-speed chase in Monticello. He had been sought for questioning related to “aggravated assault and possible homicide,” according to FOX 11.

On Monday, Chilcote appeared in court on an aggravated battery charge.

He’s also charged with fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle and being a fugitive from another state.

Loved ones said Cartagena was last seen with Chilcote while leaving to go to a grocery store, and nothing seemed unusual at the time.

However, during a phone call, family members reportedly heard Cartagena say,”Please don’t shoot me. I’m sorry.”

Chilcote remains behind bars on a $100,000 bond.

The story is developing. Check back for updates.
