A woman in Missouri faces charges of murder and child endangerment after being caught on video shooting and killing another woman in the presence of a child.
The incident unfolded late Wednesday afternoon, prompting a response from the St. Louis County Police Department to a shooting report in the northern part of the county. Officers discovered 25-year-old Bryola Carter suffering from life-threatening injuries, as reported by KSDK. She was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to her injuries.
Investigators reviewed surveillance footage that captured Giveyon Carter, 27, entering a bathroom and firing through the door at Bryola Carter and the child. According to court records, Bryola sustained gunshot wounds to her arm and torso.
KTVI reported that the women were sisters, but the relationship of the child to the two women was not specified by either news outlet.
On Friday, Giveyon Carter was formally charged with second-degree murder, armed criminal action, and child endangerment. Her bond was set at $500,000.
