The Houston Police Department responded to an emergency call around 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday at a residence located in the 11000 block of Harristown Drive on the city’s south side. Upon arrival, officers discovered Veasley suffering from several stab wounds.
Official reports indicate that Veasley sustained six stab wounds: two to her heart, two to her face, and one each to the back of her head and her right arm. Before she succumbed to her injuries, Veasley identified her son as the attacker. Emergency responders transported her to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
Crosson was arrested at the scene and allegedly confessed to the stabbing, telling police, “I felt like it was something I needed to do.” Authorities have not yet disclosed any further details regarding a motive or the circumstances leading up to the incident. Crosson is currently held at the Harris County Jail with a bond set at $750,000, and his next court appearance is scheduled for Friday.
This is not the first time Crosson has been accused of assaulting his mother. In 2021, he was alleged to have repeatedly struck her in the face following an argument about food. Although charged with injury to an elderly person, that case was subsequently dismissed. Additionally, Crosson has a previous guilty plea for evading police in 2010.
