Florida police announced on Friday that a 12-year-old girl who vanished in 2023 has been found dead.

As reported by WCTV, Tallahassee police announced that Lori Paige’s remains were discovered at Merrily Plantation in Thomas County on April 5. Paige’s father, Andrew Wiley, 36, is facing charges of second-degree murder.

Wiley had reported Paige as missing, alleging that she left home with a backpack while he was working a night shift. However, Police Chief Lawrence Revell noted inconsistencies in Wiley’s story as the investigation progressed.

The Tallahassee Democrat revealed that police confiscated Wiley’s phone in February. An analysis revealed that the device had been used to perform internet searches for remote bodies of water in Alabama and Georgia.
