The multimillion-dollar civil fraud judgment against Donald Trump in New York has officially been entered — and it’s going to cost the former president dearly if he doesn’t pay up.

According to the judgment entered Friday, Trump and his co-defendants — including his businesses, sons Donald J. Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, and former Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg — must pay a combined $114,554 in interest on the $364 million judgment handed down last week by Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron.

Prior to Friday’s judgment, the defendants owed a combined amount of $89,729 in interest dating back to the offense date. That number goes up dramatically — to more than $114,000 per day — after the entry of judgment, which includes not only the millions owed in liability but the accrued interest up to that point.

Calculations by The Associated Press show that Trump, who along with his businesses is liable for $355 million, will have to pay nearly $112,000 per day — $111,984 exactly — in addition to the more than $454 million already owed in penalties and interest.

In an obvious nod to the judgment being officially entered, New York Attorney General Letitia James posted on X the amount owed, including interest, by Trump and his co-defendants.

In the long-running and far-reaching fraud case, several defendants — including numerous Trump-affiliated companies — were found liable on multiple counts on summary judgment in September 2023.

A bench trial — that is, a trial without a jury — on the extent of liability was held between October and December 2023. Earlier this month, New York Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron arrived at a penalty just shy of the $370 million the state had asked for in January.

On Thursday Engoron refused Trump’s request to stay the judgment so that his legal team could submit a “proposed counter-judgment” that they wanted to be considered.
