South Australia Police have arrested a man and a woman after a baby was allegedly assaulted in Adelaide’s south.
The four-week-old baby was taken to hospital in May with a swollen leg. Tests showed the baby had sustained serious injuries, including bone fractures, SA Police said.
A 34-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man from Reynella East were arrested yesterday after an investigation into the baby’s injuries by detectives from the Southern District Criminal Investigation Branch.
Both were charged with criminal neglect and recklessly cause serious harm.
The pair were granted bail to appear at the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on 30 September.
“All parties are known to each other,” SA Police said in a statement.
