‘He Literally Vanished’: Scientist Still Missing Weeks After He’s Seen Walking Near Train Tracks

The search intensifies for a Massachusetts resident who mysteriously disappeared last month, raising concerns among his family and the community.

According to a report from WFXT, Jason Thomas was last seen leaving his home in Wakefield on December 12 after attending to their dogs. Surveillance footage captured Thomas near train tracks, but the train conductor confirmed he did not board a train that evening.

His wife disclosed that Thomas has been struggling emotionally since the loss of both parents in November.

“His mother’s passing from dementia was closely followed by his father’s sudden heart attack, which happened right in his arms, compounding the grief. Being an only child made the situation even more overwhelming,” she shared.

WBTs noted that Thomas is employed as a scientist at the pharmaceutical firm Novartis.

He is described as 5 feet, 6 inches tall, weighing 170 pounds, with brown eyes and hair that is black with grey streaks. On the day of his disappearance, he was wearing a white and grey puffy coat, dark blue jeans, and a black hat.

Anyone with information regarding Thomas’ whereabouts is asked to call Wakefield police at 781-245-1212.
