Press release from TheColdCases.com

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – In a poignant revelation, TheColdCases.com has published an exclusive interview with Ann Patrick, the daughter of Maureen L. “Cookie” Rowan. Maureen, once an unidentified victim known as “Little Miss Lake Panasoffkee,” was a Jane Doe discovered in Sumter County, Florida, back in 1971.

During the interview, Ann reflects on cherished memories of her mother and recounts her family’s tireless quest for answers over the years. With Maureen’s identity now confirmed after five decades, Ann expresses her hopes for closure and extends a heartfelt call to anyone who might have known Maureen “Cookie” Rowan or her estranged husband, Charles “Emery” Rowan, in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

“Before becoming a name in cold case files, Maureen was a beloved mother, daughter, and sister,” remarked Dustin Terry, the visionary behind TheColdCases.com. “Ann’s emotional narrative breathes life back into her story. Our goal is to echo her plea, encouraging those who encountered Maureen or Charles to step forward and share what they know.”

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office has designated Charles Emery Rowan Sr. as a person of interest in the case. Although he passed away in 2015, investigators are delving deeper into the couple’s life to uncover details about their activities, social interactions, and history leading up to Maureen’s tragic demise.

Ann is reaching out to anyone who may have information to assist in her search:

  • Anyone who knew Maureen “Cookie” Rowan
  • Anyone who knew or interacted with Charles (Emery) Rowan
  • Anyone who recalls rumors or events connected to the Rowan family around 1970–1971

CALL FOR INFORMATION:
Members of the public who have any information about Maureen “Cookie” Rowan, Charles “Emery” Rowan, or the Little Miss Lake Panasoffkee case are urged to contact investigators.
