Linda Brown: New Footage Shows Missing Special Ed Teacher Leaving Vehicle, Never Returning

New insights have surfaced regarding the disappearance of Linda Brown, a special education teacher who went missing last Saturday from the Bronzeville area of Chicago.

The last sighting of Brown occurred near her home on the 4500-block of South Martin Luther King Drive.

Reports from FOX 32 Chicago indicate that security cameras captured Brown on the day of her disappearance. The footage reveals her parking her blue Honda Civic, exiting the vehicle, and walking away.

Lorenzo, Brown’s brother-in-law, informed our “Crime Stories” team that her car was discovered at 35th and Lake Park. Surveillance footage recorded her crossing a pedestrian bridge alone on January 3, around 3 a.m.

Brown’s husband, Antwon, mentioned on Wednesday that the police had found her car, though they have yet to disclose further information as the investigation continues.

According to a previous CrimeOnline report, Brown had plans to attend an acupuncture session in Wicker Park on Saturday, but she never arrived, as noted in a flyer from the Chicago Teachers Union.

Brown told FOX 32 they watched a movie at home the night prior, then went to bed. When he woke up the following morning, she had already left.

“I woke up at 8:45 a.m. and she was gone. She took her purse and credit cards, but I’m thinking she was at acupuncture,” he said.

Antwon added that the disappearance is out of character for his wife, who took her purse and credit cards with her.

Calls and messages to her phone have not been answered.

Antwon said Linda has a history with mental health issues but had never left home before without returning. Chicago police said she may be in need of medical attention.

“I am terrified,” Antwon said, according to NBC Chicago. “I am just shaking. I need my wife home.”

On Monday, Linda Brown’s family retraced her steps in Bridgeport, while contacting area hospitals, ABC 7 reports. They’re hoping the public can help with assistance.

“We don’t know where she is. We need to find her because I’m breaking down and I don’t know what to do,” her husband said.

Brown, a teacher at Robert Healy Elementary School, is described as standing 5 feet tall and weighing around 130 pounds. She has brown hair, brown eyes, and a fair complexion.

CPD urges anyone with information to contact Area One SVU detectives at 312-747-8380.

Check back for updates.
