Linda Brown: New Footage Shows Missing Special Ed Teacher Leaving Vehicle, Never Returning

The circumstances surrounding the death of Linda Brown, a special education teacher from Chicago, have been clarified following her discovery in Lake Michigan on Monday.

FOX 32 reported that the Cook County Medical Examiner has determined that the 53-year-old’s passing was a result of suicide by drowning. Currently, toxicology findings are awaited to provide further insights.

Authorities retrieved Brown’s remains from the lake near the 3100 block of South Lake Shore Drive.

Details beyond this have not been disclosed at this time.

As previously covered by CrimeOnline, Brown was last observed on January 3 near her home in the 4500 block of South Martin Luther King Drive.

On that day, surveillance cameras captured her exiting her blue Honda Civic and proceeding across a pedestrian bridge towards the lake.

Brown was a longtime teacher at Robert Healy Elementary School.

“Our deepest condolences go out to her husband, family, friends, students and coworkers,” the Chicago Teachers Union said in a statement Tuesday.

“We know so many of our members at Healy, Prieto, Tarkington and other schools have been sharing concern, love, and appreciation for Linda and messages have been pouring in from across the city.”
