Authorities in Chicago are actively searching for a teenage girl who has been missing for a week.
The Chicago Police Department reports that 18-year-old Estefania Herrera was last seen on October 17. However, details regarding her last known location or whether she was accompanied by anyone remain unknown.
As reported by NBC 5 Chicago, Herrera is a senior at Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School in Chicago and is a member of the school’s swim team. More information can be found in this NBC report.
The Mother McAuley community has taken to social media to express their hopes for Estefania’s safe return, stating, “The Mother McAuley community is praying for the safe return of senior Estefania Herrera.”
Estefania is described as being 5 feet, 4 inches tall, weighing approximately 200 pounds, with brown hair. She was last seen wearing a black and white checkered fleece top paired with jeans.
Police have noted that she was carrying two backpacks, one red and the other blue, at the time of her disappearance.
