Police in Florida are searching for a 17-year-old Florida boy who may have been shot after leaving work on Thursday afternoon.
According to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Caden Speight was last seen Thursday, in the 12800 block of SW Highway 484 in Dunnellon.
He was seen with four unidentified males, possibly Hispanic, traveling in a light-colored van.
At approximately 7:30 p.m. Thursday, police issued the AMBER Alert. Earlier that afternoon, around 4 p.m., they responded to a shooting incident on the 12800 block of SW Highway 484, as reported by FOX 35 Orlando.
Caden was reportedly driving his work truck when the incident occurred. They found his vehicle at the scene with the doors opened and abandoned.
Zach Moore, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office, stated, “When deputies arrived, they found a bullet hole in the vehicle, indicating its involvement in the reported shooting,” according to WCJB.
Police said Caden hasn’t been admitted to any area hospitals, and his family has not heard from him.
It’s unclear how Caden came into contact with the men, or if he left voluntarily.
Caden is identified as a white male, standing 6 feet tall and weighing roughly 150 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen wearing blue jeans and a t-shirt.
Police are asking the public to refrain from approaching Caden or the men if spotted.
