An urgent AMBER Alert has been activated for a two-month-old infant from Georgia, who was reportedly kidnapped in Clayton County on Tuesday.
As detailed by AJC, the suspect, 25-year-old Tariq Denzell Williams, is alleged to have abducted his son, Roman Williams, in the vicinity of Fielder Road and Mount Zion Boulevard. This incident unfolded following an alleged assault on the child’s mother.
Authorities state that Williams fled the scene in a silver 2017 Volkswagen Passat. “The last known direction of the vehicle was toward I-75, and investigators suspect Williams is heading south, possibly aiming for Florida,” Clayton police reported.
The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children notes that the abduction occurred at approximately 8:35 a.m.
Williams faces multiple charges, including kidnapping, battery, vehicle theft, child cruelty, and interfering with a 911 call.
Williams is wanted on charges that include kidnapping, battery, theft of a motor vehicle, cruelty to children, and 911 call interference.
He’s described as standing 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighing 120 pounds.
“Anyone with information regarding the suspect, the child or the vehicle is urged to contact 911 immediately,” police said.
