Authorities in Illinois are intensively searching for a 4-year-old girl and her mother, who disappeared on Friday following a daycare pickup on Chicago’s West Side.
The Chicago Police Department reports that 26-year-old Heidy Garcia Soriano collected her daughter, Ashley Lobato, from their childcare provider before the two went missing from the 1300 block of North Springfield Avenue in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, according to a report by FOX 32.
Soriano’s vehicle was discovered nearby shortly after their disappearance, though specific details about the car have not been disclosed.
Police have issued an alert classifying Soriano and her daughter as endangered, with suspicions that they may still be in the vicinity.
Ashley is described as a Hispanic child, approximately 3 feet tall, weighing around 35 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
Her mother, Heidy, is described as a Hispanic woman, standing 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing approximately 110 pounds, and also having black hair and brown eyes.
