College Student Still Missing Days After Vanishing From Campus

Authorities in Vermont are actively searching for a woman who disappeared from her college campus last week.

Lia Smith, 21, was last spotted at Middlebury College on Friday. According to The Middlebury Campus, her father reported her missing on Sunday after she stopped responding to calls and messages from friends.

Originally from California, Smith is a senior student, but further information about her disappearance remains scarce.

“If Lia has any concerns or fears about being in trouble, she shouldn’t worry; nobody is in trouble,” stated Sergeant Nathan Hayes of the Middlebury police in an interview with The Middlebury Campus. “Our primary goal is to locate her and ensure she is safe.”

Smith is described as being 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing around 160 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information about Smith’s location is urged to contact the Middlebury police at 802-388-3191 or submit a tip online through the department’s website.
