The Emporia Police Department in Kansas has initiated a search for 28-year-old teacher Rebecca Rauber, who went missing last Friday.
Rauber was last observed departing from the Town Royal tavern located at 405 Commercial Street on Friday night. According to Sgt. Marcial Hernandez of the Emporia Police, she arrived at the tavern around 11 p.m., as reported by KVOE News.
Surveillance footage later caught a glimpse of Rauber walking along West Fifth Avenue at approximately 11:37 p.m., following what might have been a disagreement with a friend. She reportedly left the tavern alone, without her vehicle or personal items, according to her family and police sources cited by The Bullet.
EPD Investigations Captain Lisa Hayes informed The Emporia Gazette that officers promptly began their search for Rebecca, making use of surveillance cameras from businesses in the vicinity.
Rauber is described as being 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighing around 160 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair highlighted with blonde.
“Rebecca was observed walking alone westbound on West 5th Avenue. Video footage from a residence shows Rebecca walking north on Neosho Street from West 5th Avenue at approximately 11:37 p.m. on Friday, January 22.”
Rauber is described as standing 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighing around 160 pounds. She has brown eyes and brown hair with blonde highlights.
She was last seen wearing a dark flannel top, a white undershirt (featuring an unidentified pattern), dark-colored pants and black shoes.
Hernandez is asking people and businesses in the area to look over security footage, particularly between 11:30 p.m. and 11:45 p.m.
According to Emporia Public Schools, Rauber currently serves as a second-grade teacher at Riverside Elementary School.
