The U.S. Marshals Service has announced a reward for any information that could lead to locating Travis Turner, a Virginia high school football coach who has become a fugitive.
As reported by FOX 8, the USMS is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for any tips that might assist in finding Turner. He is currently wanted on five charges related to the possession of child pornography.
Previously covered by CrimeOnline, Turner was last observed on November 20. At the time of his disappearance, he was dressed in gray sweatpants, a gray shirt, and glasses.
Turner, who holds the position of head football coach at Union High School in Big Stone Gap, is believed to have ventured into a wooded area near his home in Appalachia while carrying a firearm.
His wife became alarmed after he failed to return home that evening. Concerned for his well-being, she reached out to law enforcement to report him missing.
Authorities have concentrated their search efforts on the nearby woodland, employing both K-9 units and drones in hopes of uncovering his whereabouts.
Turner has since been removed from the staff member website at the high school.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact Virginia State Police Division 4 at 276-484-9483 or send an email questions@vsp.virginia.gov. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
The story is developing. Check back for updates.
