An alleged crime associate and a lawyer have been identified as the victims of a brazen shooting in Sydney yesterday.

The two men are fighting for life after gunmen opened fire on a Toyota Hilux on Church Street, Parramatta, about 5pm yesterday.

They have been identified as Dawood Zakaria, an alleged associate of the Alameddine crime syndicate, and lawyer Silvan Singh.

More details have emerged about the two people who were shot during a brazen shooting in Sydney yesterday.

The pair were in a car with two others when they were shot by somebody driving past.

One of the men was shot in the head and was rushed to the hospital in a critical condition.

Police said earlier today that he was not expected to survive.

The other man who was shot is in a stable condition.

Dashcam footage from the scene shows the moment the Toyota Hilux crossed the median strip after the shooting.

The two tires on the passenger side were both pierced by bullets.

A Mercedes was destroyed by fire three and a half kilometres away at an apartment block on Sherwood Street in Merrylands West.

Police are investigating whether it was the getaway car.

It is believed that the Alameddine associate came under fire earlier this year in a shooting in Brighton-le-Sands.

NSW Police said they would be doing everything they could to hold the perpetrators responsible.

“We’re aware of the organised crime networks that exist,” Detective Superintendent Jason Box said.

“We’re aware of, you know, the potential violence they can use.

“You know, we will be out there in large numbers for this and for the other offences, and we’ll be doing everything we can to hold all these people accountable.
