An astonishing video rapidly circulating online captures the harrowing moment when a police officer becomes the target of an attempted murder.

At 11:56 a.m., a sergeant from the Whitpain Township Police tries to pull over a white Mercedes G-Wagon. The driver, however, recklessly speeds away, driving dangerously over the concrete median. Recognizing the escalating threat to public safety, the officer halts the pursuit and alerts nearby law enforcement agencies to remain vigilant for the fleeing vehicle.

Shortly thereafter, at 12:39 p.m., officers from Plymouth Township respond to a call at the Doubletree Guest Suites, where the same Mercedes is located.

As the police activate their lights and approach from behind, Dalton Janiczek, the alleged driver, reverses the high-end $130,000 SUV, using it aggressively to ram into the patrol car repeatedly.

The officer exits his vehicle, commanding Janiczek to halt. Instead, Janiczek accelerates towards him, prompting the officer to fire his weapon in self-defense.

In the ensuing chaos, the officer sustains injuries during the attack. As he lies on the ground, he attempts to apply a tourniquet to his wounded leg, all while witnessing Janiczek maneuver through the parking lot, repeatedly aiming the vehicle at him.

Janiczek flees the parking lot. Thankfully, the attempted murder of a police officer is caught on tape.

Dalton Janiczek is no stranger to local police. In the week before his arrest, he had been involved in several incidents in the area, including a threat to bomb a police station.

Janiczek lives a life of privilege with his high-flying, locally famous attorney father, Lee Janiczek, growing up in Amber, Pennsylvania, in a $1.4 million dollar home.

Janiczek graduated from LaSalle College High School in Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania, and then spent two years at Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles, where he was on the rowing team.

His grandfather, Dr. Lee J. Janiczek, the longest-serving commissioner in Springfield Township, retired in 2019 after 44 years of public service.
