Woman charged with $400,000 fraud over alleged illegal daycare
A woman has been charged with $400,00 worth of fraud after allegedly running an illegal daycare operation in Sydney.

A 33-year-old woman stands accused of operating an unauthorized daycare in Denham Court, according to police reports. Allegedly, she managed this facility without the necessary legal registrations or approvals, accepting children into her care during this period. Moreover, claims have surfaced that she failed to pay rent for the property she used.

The police assert that the unapproved daycare was operational from November 2023 through April 2024. This timeline indicates a significant duration during which the alleged infractions occurred.

Furthermore, investigators have leveled additional accusations against her, alleging she fabricated documents pertaining to real estate transactions. These claims extend to fraudulent interactions with government entities, notably the Australian Taxation Office and Services Australia.

Yesterday morning, around 9 a.m., the woman was apprehended at Parramatta Police Station. Following her arrest, she faced several charges related to fraud and was denied bail. She is expected to appear in Parramatta Local Court today.

The prosecution plans to present evidence in court, contending that the woman committed fraud amounting to $400,000. This substantial figure underscores the seriousness of the charges she faces.

Police will allege in court the woman committed fraud to the value of $400,000.
