A Texas woman, previously arrested in June for allegedly stabbing her neighbor, finds herself back in custody, this time accused of making threats against a different individual.

Emily LaVelle, aged 29, is currently held at the McLennan County Jail following her Saturday arrest. She faces charges of assaulting a peace officer, carrying a weapon unlawfully, making terroristic threats, and public intoxication with three prior offenses. As reported by local CBS affiliate KWTX and detailed in an arrest affidavit, LaVelle allegedly spat on a police officer at the scene where she threatened to kill an unnamed man.

As noted by Law&Crime, LaVelle’s earlier arrest in June involved the alleged stabbing of a woman at their shared apartment complex. She was out on bond at the time of her recent arrest.

The arrest affidavit reveals police responded to a disturbance call on Tennyson Drive in Waco. Upon arrival around 8:30 p.m., officers discovered LaVelle reclining in the front seat of a vehicle. After requesting her exit, they uncovered a pistol below her, accompanied by a “regular magazine” and an “extended magazine,” according to the affidavit.

Officers noted an “assortment of alcoholic beverages” and reported that LaVelle appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. The affidavit mentioned her “slow and irregular” speech during interactions. She resisted officers’ attempts to place her in the patrol unit, which allegedly included spitting on an officer.

When officers questioned the man inside the home, he told them that LaVelle had allegedly threatened to kill him.

LaVelle had been released on bond, facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon due to the earlier alleged stabbing incident. She claimed self-defense, stating she felt it was a “do or die” situation upon encountering the other woman and would “do anything” to protect herself. LaVelle reportedly told police she would have “killed that b—” if given the opportunity.

LaVelle is still in custody at the McLennan County Jail where she is being held on $28,500 bond.
