Two people allegedly broke into the townhouse in Ascot just before 5am.
CCTV shows the pair arriving in a small black car before one walks to the front of the property and disables the security gate at the front of the townhouse complex.
The pair then allegedly broke through the front door, obtained the car keys and jumped in the car.
A dog started to bark which alerted the people inside to the break-in.
The occupants rushed downstairs and a 34-year-old woman put herself behind the car the offenders were trying to take.
Witnesses said the car reversed into the woman, trapping her between a pillar and the car before they took off.
The woman was taken to hospital with hip injuries in a stable condition.
“I woke up around 4.45am to some sounds of yelling, a man’s voice, really loudly,” one neighbour said.
“There were crashing sounds then I heard a woman scream quite loudly.”
The car has since been found in the nearby suburb of Virginia however the two men remain have not been located.
Police are asking anyone who was in the area between 4.30am and 5.30am to come forward.
