Cops in Tennessee are looking for two suspects who intentionally ran over a woman with a car in the parking lot of a Nashville apartment complex.
It happened around 1:45 a.m. Saturday at the Neely Meadows Apartments at 600 Cheyenne Boulevard in Madison, a neighborhood in northeast Nashville. Police identified the victim as 32-year-old Caroline Conner.
According to a press release, Conner was on foot in a parking lot when she began arguing with a man and woman in a white Mercury Sable. After the verbal argument, the suspects drove to the back of the complex but came back to the front and hit Conner “at a high rate of speed,” police say.
Conner was on the hood of the car, but flew off after the suspects made a left turn onto Cheyenne Boulevard, the press release said. Paramedics rushed Conner to Skyline Medical Center where she died.
One neighbor heard the commotion.
“Last night me and my husband were watching TV and we heard somebody screaming,” Latisha Slack told Nashville NBC affiliate WSMV.
Slack said she didn’t realize what was happening until the incident was over.
“We did hear a car screeching off,” Slack told the outlet. “We didn’t know what it was. We just thought it was some random car, and somebody out here arguing, we didn’t know somebody got killed.”
Added Slack: “It’s sad that somebody lost their life for nothing.”
Police believe the Sable has damage to its hood and windshield. Anyone with information about the car and/or the male and female inside it is asked to contact Nashville Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
