Cristiano Ronaldo scored yet again for Al Nassr as his side beat Al-Ettifaq to keep their title hopes alive in the Saudi Pro League.

Steven Gerrard’s side were second best throughout on the night, with former Manchester United man Alex Telles also on the scoresheet.

Telles opened the scoring after 43 minutes before former Inter Milan man Marcelo Brozovic doubled the home side’s lead just before the hour mark.

The result took Al Nassr to 10 points off top spot in the Saudi Pro League, with Al Hilal leading the way but having played a game more.

Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum were among the former Premier League players to line up for the away side on Friday at the Al-Awwal Park Stadium.

Gerrard’s side are now without a win in eight games and sit eighth in the league table.

They face Al Hazm next on December 28, while Al Nassr will take on Al Ittihad on December 26.

Sadio Mane received plaudits from the supporters in the stands too, and paid tribute at full time after another impressive performance for his new side.
