Eric Trump stated in an interview Monday night that President Donald Trump’s political adversaries attempted to disrupt his marriage to First Lady Melania Trump. 

The younger Trump joined Newsmax’s Rob Schmitt Tonight, where the host showed him clips of Democrats criticizing the treatment of former FBI Director James Comey, who was indicted last week. 

Though Trump has consistently criticized the weaponization of the Justice Department, Democrats and numerous legal analysts cite the Comey indictment as proof of Trump engaging in such behavior. 

But Eric Trump pushed back, claiming that President Joe Biden’s Justice Department ‘came after me like a dog,’ and treated his family horribly. 

‘They raided his home! They raided Mar-a-Lago! They tried to get him divorced! They tried to separate our family!’ Eric Trump told Schmitt. 

The FBI raided Mar-a-Lago in August 2022 and seized documents officials believed the former president had illegally retained that were classified. 

It was not immediately clear what Eric was alluding to regarding a possible ‘divorce,’ but Melania Trump had voiced her ‘anger’ over the Mar-a-Lago search. 

In a September 2024 interview on Fox & Friends, she called the FBI raid an ‘invasion of privacy.’

‘I saw unpleasant things that nobody wants to see,’ Melania Trump said. ‘And you get angry because, you know, nobody should have to deal with that kind of stuff. Some person – I’m not sure who or how many – they, you know, went through my things.’

Eric Trump charged that ‘Merrick Garland was at the forefront of it all.’ 

Garland was attorney general at the time of the Mar-a-Lago raid. 

‘And Joe Biden was at the forefront of it all when they raided our home, when they raided Mar-a-Lago, when they raided Melania’s closet, when they raided 16-year-old Barron’s room,’ Eric Trump expressed his frustration.  

During his appearance on Schmitt’s show, the first son also expressed fury over his father’s two previous impeachments – the first dealing with Trump holding up Congressional funds to pressure Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to announce an investigation into the Bidens and the second over January 6. 

‘You know, they went after him for a Russia hoax that did not exist that was paid for by Hillary Clinton,’ Eric Trump said. 

‘The FBI and the DOJ spied on my father’s campaign. They de-platformed him. They weaponized every attorney general and every district attorney around the country. They indicted him 91 times, 34 times in a bogus trial in New York City,’ he continued. 

President Trump was indicted in four separate cases – two having to do with his attempt to overturn the 2020 election, one related to his business practices in New York and the one involving the classified documents, which prompted the Mar-a-Lago raid. 

‘They posted his mugshot. He’s the most recognizable person in the world. They posted his mugshot even though they didn’t need to. It totally backfired on him,’ the younger Trump pointed out.

‘They tried to go after our employees! They attacked us. They tried to bankrupt our company. They de-platformed us! They stripped every bank account away from me and the Trump Organization that you can imagine,’ Eric Trump continued. 

Eric Trump has a book coming out in two weeks entitled Under Siege: My Family’s Fight to Save Our Nation.
