Dramatic video shows a Miami man jumping into the ocean in order to save an abandoned dog drowning in the choppy waters.
Samuel Reyes, 26 was running across the Brickell Key Bridge in the city’s downtown on Wednesday morning when he noticed the canine struggling to stay afloat.
Reyes’ jogging companion filmed footage of the remarkable rescue, which begins with the accidental hero stripping off his shirt and climbing across the bridge’s railing in order to save the pup.
Onlookers on nearby docks can be seen watching on as Reyes then jumps off the bridge and into the water.

‘Wow!’ one bystander can be heard remarking as Reyes swims towards the struggling pooch and scoops it up into his arms.
Another Good Samaritan is also seen taking to the water to offer some assistance.
Reyes then slowly makes his way to shore with the dog in his arms, before he is helped back up onto dry land by a crowd of people who have started to watch on.
Reyes later told the Miami Herald it was a ‘great feeling’ to help save the dog.

Despite swallowing ‘a lot of water’, the businessman said he ‘would do it again in a heartbeat’.
The footage has now gone viral, with many remarking on Reyes’ heroic actions.
‘The world needs more people like him,’ one wrote after the video was shared to a Miami lifestyle Instagram account.
‘He needs a trophy,’ another remarked.
‘Aww notice how the dog immediately swam to him because he knew he was there to help,’ another observed.
