KAROLINE Leavitt has been praised for her controversial interview with a popular running influencer that has sparked outrage among Democrats on social media.
The White House press secretary, 27, is the latest high-profile name to make an appearance on the TikTok page of influencer Kate Mackz, known for interviewing celebrities and politicians while running with them.
But unlike most of Mackz’s guests, Leavitt ditched the workout gear and instead gave Mackz and her followers a tour of the White House and her office.
“This is the infamous blue door that we walk out of,” Leavitt, dressed in a sleeveless yellow pants suit, said in the video after giving Mackz a tour of the James S. Brady Press Briefing Room.
After introducing Mackz to her team, Leavitt led the influencer into her office where portraits of herself with President Donald Trump and another of herself with her 9-month-old son hung on the wall.
A cork board near her desk had two photos of her toddler, one of him on his first Air Force One flight, and another of her with a seventh grade class from Georgia who visited the White House.
Among the most bizarre photos on the cork board was a meme, which Leavitt said that she “loves,” showing a man refusing a brain.
“It’s a man pointing at a brain and it says, ‘No thanks. I won’t be needing that. I believe everything the legacy media shows,'” Leavitt said.
“Look we want critical thinking around here,” she added as she slightly shrugged her shoulders.
Towards the end of her interview with Leavitt, Mackz points out actor Jason Isaacs, who was seen lingering in the background on the White House grounds.
“Hi guys, look who we ran into,” Mackz said as she pointed her camera to The White Lotus star.
During the brief engagement, Mackz then said how she had just interviewed Isaacs’ The White Lotus co-star Patrick Schwarzenegger.
“We’ve got to get you on the running show,” she tells Isaacs, who responded, “Sure, I’m in… Wait, running and talking at the same time? S**t.”
As Leavitt and Mackz continued, the White House press secretary said, “You just never know who you’re going to run into.”
Isaacs has been one of the most critical voices of Trump.
The British actor, 61, lashed out at Trump during at the White House Correspondents’ Brunch on Sunday, referring to him as a “scumbag,” according to The Daily Beast.
