The couples’ retreat has come to an end on 90 Day: The Last Resort, marking the breakup of a fan-favorite couple during the season 2 finale. While the recommitment ceremony provided some closure, episode 17 left fans with even more questions — building anticipation for the upcoming tell-all special.
90 Day Fiance’s Gino Met Matt for the First Time
Gino Palazzolo and Jasmine Pineda were discussing the specifics of their intended open marriage. To progress their plans, Jasmine reached out to Matthew Branistareanu — the person she wanted to involve — allowing him to have a FaceTime conversation with Gino.
Matt stated that he met Jasmine at the gym and confirmed they had not been intimate. As a consideration, Gino asked Matt if he would adhere to safe sex guidelines, and Matt agreed.
“Alright, let’s consider if she starts to develop strong feelings or a significant bond with you,” Gino explained. “Jasmine and I have decided that if this happens, we would need to put a stop to it because we don’t want emotions to become involved or for either of you to become too emotionally attached.”
Matt agreed with Gino but criticized him for not “handling” the situation how he felt Jasmine deserved, adding, “It’s kind of heartbreaking because Jasmine is, you know, she can be a little bit of a brat, but she has a good heart.”
Gino urged Matt to leave those matters between him and Jasmine. In a private confessional, the Michigan native admitted an open marriage was more difficult than she imagined and part of him wanted to “punch” Matt.
“I don’t like the way Matt talked to me,” Gino explained. “But unfortunately I feel like I’ve been put in a corner by Jasmine because Matt being the only person, she wants is open marriage with when the recommitment ceremony is tomorrow, and I don’t feel like I have another choice.”

90 Day Fiance’s Natalie Mordovtseva Still Decided to Attend the Recommitment Ceremony
Although Natalie Mordovtseva and Josh Weinstein called it quits during episode 16, Natalie felt “used” and “left behind” by the modeling CEO after the split.
Despite the breakup, the Ukraine native planned to attend the next day’s recommitment ceremony. In contrast, Josh seemingly couldn’t wait to leave the resort.
“I’m packing my bags tonight and leaving the resort because I just don’t feel like, you know, I really need to be around and drag this out any further,” he told the cameras.
The Night Before the Recommitment Ceremony Got Emotional
Rob Warne, Sophie Sierra, Stacey Silva, Florian Sukaj, Brandon Gibbs and Julia Trubkina went out for one final night to “celebrate who’s made it this far and [to] have a little bit of fun.”
The group quickly dove into a discussion about Gino and Jasmine’s open marriage proposal, with Stacey and Rob expressing their hesitation about the arrangement.
“She’s opening herself up to a huge problem, which is her feelings emotionally investing in another in another man,” Rob told the group.
In a private confessional, he hinted that Jasmine had ulterior motives for proposing an open marriage. “Jasmine’s just trying to be able to have a little boo thing on the side and Jasmine shows up here trying to reframe it to help, like it’s going to help Gino,” Rob said. “I just want to call it out and call it like I see it. Jasmine should not get to get away with that.”
Gino and Jasmine eventually joined the group, where the Michigan native revealed he spoke with Matt for the first time.
“There was some things I didn’t like, you know, during the conversation with Matt, he was just talking about our personal relationship between Jasmine and I and how I should be nicer to her,” Gino told the group. “They have a very good friendship going on. And that worries me because this is only supposed to be like an intimacy thing.”
Florian and Rob both encouraged Gino to “forget Matt” and the open relationship and instead be intimate with his wife. The group also encouraged Jasmine to “find another guy” due to her and Matt’s existing connection.
“You have an emotional connection with this Matt guy,” Stacey told Jasmine. “Now that I’m hearing from Gino, this is just like a disaster waiting to happen for me.”
After hearing this, Gino agreed and declared that Matt was “out.” This upset Jasmine, who broke down in tears, expressing her frustration over Gino not touching her for nine months.
“I’ve been faithful to Gino, but you have no idea how I have to open myself. You have been here, been f–king judgmental, and you are the first people crucifying me!” Jasmine said angrily as she walked away from the table, announcing she was returning to Michigan.
Florian once again urged Gino to be intimate with Jasmine, but Gino refused, insisting he needed an “emotional connection” first. The Albania native then asked Gino to tell him “what happened over Christmas,” alluding to Jasmine being kicked out of his home.
Gino called Florian a “bitch,” instantly sparking his anger. The tension escalated so quickly that security had to step in as the two exchanged heated words.
After Gino calmed down, the pair eventually shook hands and the night was over.
The ‘90 Day: The Last Resort’ Couples Were Unsure About the Future
The next morning, the couples were anxiously waiting for the recommitment ceremony. Gino revealed that after the evening’s blowup, he and Jasmine decided to sleep in different rooms to get “space” from each other. He admitted that he and Jasmine didn’t know what they were doing in regards to the recommitment ceremony.
Stacey and Florian were working on their vows, with Stacey being put off that her husband wasn’t writing them down and instead “saying it from the heart.”

Meanwhile, Julia brought up the topic of her parent’s possible move to the United States. Brandon was uneasy about the subject as he felt them relocating to the States would cause problems between them.
“You know that you and your family can’t get along. You’re at the center of it all and it drives you crazy. You take it to your heart,” he told her. “And then when they’re here, if they stay in our house, I think it’s going to cause problems for us and I’m very afraid of what that could do to us Julia.”
Julia wasn’t happy about this and said if he wasn’t going to help her with her parents, he shouldn’t come to the ceremony.
Rob really wanted his marriage with Sophie to work out but wasn’t sure if there was still a chance for their relationship to succeed.
“This whole time I haven’t been able to get my wife to come home and work on our relationship, and only because of all of this do we do what I’ve been asking and wanting to do,” he told the cameras. “And then I’m seeing the results of that and it’s us getting along and it’s Sophie wanting me around and it’s just kind of like bittersweet. I do love Sophie and my heart wants us to work it out, but I guess I’m worried that it just, it’s like too little too late.”
Gino went to Jasmine’s room before the recommitment ceremony and reconfirmed that he felt an open marriage was their best option for continuing their relationship. Gino still had “concerns” about Matt, but Jasmine assured him that did not love him.
90 Day Fiance’s Stacey Silva and Florian Recommit
Stacey and Florian were the first couple up at the recommitment ceremony. During the ceremony, Florian apologized for everything he did in the relationship with her and reassured her that he loved her.
“At times a part of me it feels it’s time to let you go,” she told him. “You will always be in my heart. I’m sorry. Sorry for all the bad times and all the negativity, but I’m not going to leave you.” The pair decided to recommit at the ceremony.
90 Day Fiance’s Sophie and Rob’s Breakup Plays Out at the Recommitment Ceremony
Sophie and Rob were the next at the recommitment ceremony and the U.K. native explained that her vows were instead a letter to her younger self.
“Dear younger Sophie, remember to stand up for yourself if people are mean to you and remember you’re perfect the way you are,” she read. “Fast forward to grown up Sophie. You are now more confident; you finally have friends and even end up getting married and grown. Sophie has grown into a kind, loving person who deserves love and happiness. Even though who you marry is not your dream man, you is happy with him. For a few years.”
Sophie then cried and told Rob that they were “not good together.” This caused Rob to leave the ceremony and return to his room.
90 Day Fiance’s Brandon and Julia Recommit
Brandon and Julia’s time proved to be more positive. Julia said she would compromise when it came to having a child, while Brandon agreed to help get her parents to the United States. The pair ultimately agreed to recommit.
90 Day Fiance’s Gino and Jasmine Agree to an Open Marriage
Gino and Jasmine were the last couple to reveal their decisions.
“I still don’t know if this is what you want, but anyway, love starts as a feeling but continue as a choice and I find myself choosing you more and more every day,” Jasmine told him. “I promise you my unconditional love, tenderness and undying devotion. And to love you, comfort you, protect you and shelter you all days of my life till the day I die, baby.”
Gino told Jasmine he didn’t want to lose her and promised to do “whatever it takes” to keep their relationship intact. He expressed his desire to strengthen their bond and put an end to the open marriage. With that, the two shared a kiss and reaffirmed their commitment to each other.
