Stephen Miller launched another intriguing tweet correcting Elon Musk, his wife’s employer, shortly after touting his happy family life.
‘The Big Beautiful Bill decreases total spending over the budget window by nearly $2 trillion,’ the top adviser to President Donald Trump wrote on X Sunday.
The tweet comes after an interview aired with Musk on CBS This Morning in which the Tesla founder admitted to differences with the administration.
‘It’s not like I agree with everything the administration does,’ said Musk, who left his formal government role last week.
He went on to express his disappointment with Trump’s legislative blue print, saying it ‘undermines the work’ of his Department of Government Efficiency, which sought to make massive cuts to federal spending by cutting contracts, killing agencies and firing workers.

Miller has pushed back against criticism of the ‘big, beautiful bill.’
The back-and-forth drama over government spending between the two men close to Trump has been amplified after Stephen’s wife Katie Miller decided to follow Musk to the private sector amid his exit from the White House inner circle.
Katie Miller, a prominent figure in Trump’s first administration, was spokesperson for Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency.
Stephen Miller, who serves Deputy White House Chief of Staff, has never called out Musk by name in his tweets but his defense of the president’s legislation is clear and the timing coincides with Musk’s criticism of the bill. Other members of the Trump administration have been just as vocal in defending the ‘big, beautiful bill.’
DailyMail reached out to the White House for comment on the matter.
Stephen and Katie Miller have been married for over five years.
The couple met through their work in the first Trump administration. They married on February 16, 2020 at what was then Trump’s hotel in Washington D.C. The president attended the event as did several prominent figures in Trump’s first term, making it one of the social events of the year among the MAGA crowd.
They have a daughter and two sons, whom they brought to the White House Easter Egg Roll in April.
Stephen Miller touted their great family life in an interview with Lara Trump that aired Saturday on Fox News.
‘This is the most family-friendly work environment. You can bring your kid to work any time you want,’ he said of working in the White House.
He also described President Trump as ‘great with kids.’
‘My daughter is always asking to see the president again…She’s always desperate for any chance to get face time with the president,’ he said.
Miller did not, however, discuss Katie’s new role with Elon Musk in the interview.
But he did talk about how they met, when he was an adviser in the White House and she was spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security.
‘When I first met her, she was the communications director at the Department of Homeland Security, so it’s very on-brand, the relationship, because we were on conference calls every day on border security,’ he said.

Musk, meanwhile, formally left the Trump administration on Friday, holding court with the president in an Oval Office press conference.
The Tesla founder sported a black eye during the event, which he said was the result of his son X punching him.
But even before he departed the White House Musk made clear his disagreement with the ‘big beautiful bill,’ which is Trump’s signature legislation that funds the government.
Musk said he was ‘disappointed to see the massive spending bill’ because it increases the budget deficit and undermines DOGE.
‘I was, like, disappointed to see the massive spending bill, frankly, which increases the budget deficit, doesn’t decrease it, and undermines the work that the DOGE team is doing,’ he told CBS News.
I said, ‘I actually thought that, when this ‘big, beautiful bill’ came along, it’d be like, everything he’s done on DOGE gets wiped out in the first year.’
‘I think a bill can be big or it can be beautiful,’ Musk added with a laugh. ‘But I don’t know if it could be both. My personal opinion.’
The legislation will add about $3.8 trillion to the federal government’s $36.2 trillion in debt over the next decade, according to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office.

Musk has claimed to save the federal government billions through his DOGE efforts.
He was designated a ‘Special Government Employee,’ which allows private sector figures to work for the federal government, but restricts them to 130 days per year.
Katie Miller had the same designation so she also had to leave the administration or get an exemption to stay on board with Team Trump.
She, instead, took a full time gig with Musk, handling press for him as he returns to his business interests, which took a hit during his controversial time with the government.
