Angela Deem is grieving the loss of Billy, who was her online romantic interest introduced on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?
Angela, 59, shared the sad news of Billy’s passing on Tuesday, April 1, via a post uploaded by 90 Day Fiancé blogger John Yates. The post said, “Angela Deem announces the passing of her dear friend Billy. ‘Rest In Peace Beautiful Beautiful Friend’ Sympathy to Billy’s family, his girlfriend Dee, and Angela,” as per the caption.
Angela posted a montage on her Instagram Stories featuring video clips of her and Billy together, made possible due to their long-distance connection. Along with the video, she included a message saying, “Please, everyone, pray for Dee, Billy’s girlfriend. She was the true angel.”
Billy was first introduced to TLC fans on season 7 of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? in April 2022 as an online friendship Angela developed amid her marriage to her estranged husband, Micheal Ilesanmi.
Angela met Billy after she reached out to him online to do a painting for her then-husband, 37, who was in Nigeria while she remained in the U.S. Their relationship rapidly grew as they spent more time chatting, eventually becoming close friends. They even teamed up to perform TikTok dances together, further deepening their bond.
During the spinoff, Angela admitted that she’d been leaning on Billy amid her marriage struggles. After she called Billy a “man of many trades,” she explained that he used to be a stripper in the ’80s known as the “Thief of Hearts.”

Their online relationship eventually fizzled out as Angela focused on repairing her marriage with Michael, especially after his U.S. visa was finally approved in December 2023.
However, marital bliss didn’t last long for Angela, as shortly after he moved into her Georgia home, she reported Michael missing in February 2024. Michael later explained his disappearance by saying he was “in fear of his life,” and he claimed he didn’t want Angela to know where he was.
Angela filed for annulment from Michael on June 20, 2024, In Touch confirmed at the time. In her paperwork, she claimed that Michael “fraudulently induced” her into marriage “for the purpose of gaining legal permanent resident status in the United States.”
In response, the Nigeria native started a GoFundMe fundraiser in August 2024 in hopes of raising funds for his legal fees. After surpassing his $25,000 goal, he responded to Angela’s annulment filing on August 21, 2024, and denied her claims of fraud. Michael accused his ex of “cruel treatment” and “physical and mental abuse” during their marriage. He also said that the treatment was one of the reasons for their divorce.
The case is ongoing. In Touch exclusively reported that the case was moving along in the justice system after Michael informed the court on December 2, 2024, that he had turned over documents and information that Angela requested as part of the case. Angela had served interrogatories, which was a list of questions or demands, that she wanted Michael to provide information on or produce related documents for amid their split.
