Anthony Edwards expressed that he has faced harassment and harmful speculation, which has affected his concentration on his professional life due to the media coverage surrounding his custody dispute with his former partner, Ayesha Howard. The NBA player requested that the judge restrict public access to the case, In Touch has learned exclusively.

On April 2, Anthony, who is 23, submitted a motion to seal the paternity and child support case against Ayesha, 37, concerning their daughter, Aubri Summers Howard, born in October 2024.

Anthony told the court he does not want custody or visitation, leaving the only thing to be determined is child support.

Ayesha filed a separate case against Anthony in California. She asked that child support be determined in Los Angeles.

The NBA star accused her of moving to California in hopes of scoring a higher child support award.

As In Touch first reported, the California judge recently ruled that the child support will be established in Georgia, a small victory for Anthony.

In his latest motion, Anthony outlined that the case includes “sensitive child support issues involving a minor child and two prominent individuals.” He stated that he is an NBA star, while Ayesha is recognized as a “notable social media influencer.”

Anthony claimed coverage of the court battle has led to “unnecessary public scrutiny, undue invasion of privacy and harm to the minor child.”

He said he believes the entire case should be hidden from the public. He argued there is no reason for the case to be open to the public.

His lawyer wrote, “The media has already published details that sensationalize the proceedings rather than serve any legitimate public interest, including private text messages, the DNA test and information about children not subject to this proceeding.”

His attorney added, “Public access to these records has invited unwanted interference from the general public, online commentators, and social media users, which has resulted in harassment, doxxing and malicious speculation that has impacted the parties and their ability to focus on their career and their children’s well-being.”

Ayesha has yet to respond to Anthony’s request.

As In Touch first reported, Anthony admitted he was the father to Aubri after a DNA test was completed in December 2024. However, he told the court does not want custody or visitation.

Anthony wrote in a declaration, “[Ayesha] and I have one minor child together, Aubri Summer Howard. Paternity was recently established through DNA testing. I am not seeking child custody or visitation of Aubri. Therefore, the only issues to be resolved are financial in nature.”

As part of the court battle, Ayesha submitted a series of bombshell alleged texts she said Anthony sent her urging her to get an abortion.

In one alleged message, Ayesha, who has an older son with rapper Lil Baby, told Anthony, “I’m pregnant … wanted to tell you in person but you gave me no other choice. We probably should have kept it cordial but we’re here now.”

Anthony allegedly replied, “OK lol. Get da abortion lol.”

Ayesha allegedly replied, “I don’t need hush money, my intentions aren’t to blackmail you in anyway. I’m being upfront and honest. I’m not getting an abortion it’s not an option. I can keep you updated through the process or I can disappear until the babies here it’s on you. Either way I’m done going back and forward cause you think it’s a joke.”

Anthony allegedly replied, “Omg bye” followed by a series of laughing emojis.

Ayesha wrote in a declaration submitted in court, “Upon informing Anthony of the pregnancy, he blocked me on all communication platforms and made it clear, through text messages, that he did not want to be involved in the life of our child. His exact words were that our daughter would be a ‘fatherless child.’”

She added, “From that point on, Anthony never reached out to me to inquire about my well-being, the well-being of our child, or any of the needs I had during my pregnancy. I did not receive any support—emotional, financial or otherwise — throughout the entire duration of my pregnancy.”
