Within the first 15 minutes of the debut episode of Next Gen NYC, Ariana Biermann makes a startling revelation about her mother, Kim Zolciak, and her estranged stepfather, Kroy Biermann.
Ariana claims that Zolciak and Kroy, who became her legal parents along with her sister Brielle Biermann in 2013, allegedly withdrew money from her bank account without her consent.
“I’ve been on television since I was five. I did reality TV with my family, and later, I began sharing content on Instagram,” Ariana shares in her interview segment. “I scored my first brand deal at 14 years old, and was posting three times a week. The payment for a story or an Instagram post can be significant, and I earned a considerable amount of money.”
She adds, “But unfortunately, my parents took my money.”
Ariana says she doesn’t know how they spent the money, noting that she only found out it was gone two years ago.
“I don’t even know how much money I made over the time period,” she continues. “Nobody was honest, there was no transparency, and I have no idea where it actually went.”
Ariana explains that her willingness to send her mom money has been a point of contention with her boyfriend Hudson McLeroy, who gets “upset” when Zolciak asks for financial help.
“Did I see my mom drinking a $200 bottle of wine on her story the other day?” Ariana asks him in the scene, to which he replies, “She almost brags to us, like, ‘Oh, yeah. I’m drinking the same bottle of wine right now.’ I’m like, ‘Why are you doing that?’”
However, Ariana acknowledges that Zolciak is going through a “crazy divorce” with Kroy and still has four young kids. “I never want money to destroy a relationship with my family, ever,” she says.
Shortly before the Real Housewives of Atlanta alum filed for divorce from the ex-NFL star in 2023, TMZ obtained documents stating they owed the IRS over $1 million in “unpaid taxes, interest, and penalties.” Kroy claimed Zolciak’s alleged gambling addiction “financially devastated” their family, while Zolciak accused Kroy of smoking marijuana and demanded that he be drug tested. That fall, they listed their seven-bedroom, 11-bathroom Atlanta mansion for a whopping $6 million, though it finally sold in February of this year for $2.75 million.
