Bravo fans just got another Karen Huger update from her Real Housewives of Potomac co-star Ashley Darby.
Huger, who was previously arrested for driving under the influence, is currently serving a year-long sentence at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in Maryland. Although Darby has not “spoken to her directly” since her incarceration started in February, she’s received updates that Huger is “doing fine.”
“She just had her birthday and her family visited her, which made her really happy,” Darby mentioned on Sunday night’s (May 18) episode of Watch What Happens Live. “But overall, she’s doing well. It seems she’s holding court there – in true Karen fashion.”
Their fellow Real Housewives of Potomac co-star Gizelle Bryant said something similar when she stopped by the Bravo Clubhouse last month.
“I’ve been in touch with someone who is quite close to her regarding her well-being,” Bryant told host Andy Cohen during the show. “From what I’m told, she’s quite adored where she’s staying. They absolutely adore her. They are embracing the Grande Dame. You know she’s calling the shots in there.”
Bryant added, “I feel very good about the fact that she’s safe.”
Huger was arrested in March 2024 after she was involved in a high-speed car accident that totaled her vehicle. While she was hit with a DUI charge and six other traffic violations, she maintained her innocence, claiming she swerved to avoid a head-on collision with another car that was allegedly driving toward her.
Huger, who has had four DUI arrests in the past 17 years, was ultimately found guilty on all charges except reckless driving. In police camera footage from the night of her arrest, which was released to the public following her trial, Huger admits to being “lit” and bizarrely refers to herself as “Thomas Jefferson’s concubine.” She was sentenced to to two years in prison with one year suspended, meaning she will spend one whole year in prison and will have her license suspended for another year.
Watch What Happens Live airs Sunday through Thursday at 10 p.m. ET on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
