People obtained death certificates revealing that the couple died from several gunshot wounds endured on July 10, around 4:45 PM.

The death certificates shed more light into their heartbreaking passing, with the documents revealing Deluca passed within seconds of being shot. Kaye died minutes after she was shot. Both Deluca and Kaye have homicide listed as their manner of death. Their date of death has been recorded as July 14 at 4:14PM, despite the couple succumbing to their injuries days earlier. The date and time was when officers found the couple deceased.

Documents provide further insight into their tragic deaths, indicating that Deluca died within seconds after being shot, while Kaye succumbed to her wounds minutes later. Their deaths are classified as homicides, and the official date of death is reported as July 14 at 4:14 PM, marking the time when authorities discovered their bodies.

Kaye and Deluca, both 70, have had autopsies conducted on them, and the procedures were used in ascertaining their cause of death, People notes. People reports that a death certificate for Kaye, which had been issued on July 23, initially said she did not have an autopsy done on her. However, an amendment subsequently filed on August 4 corrected that particular note. Kaye and Deluca were cremated on July 23.

He said he didn't think proceeding without the involvement of the suspect would be 'fair.'
