Amy Homma – the Academy Museum director and president – recently issued a statement in regards to Saturday’s ceremony, per The Hollywood Reporter.
‘The Academy Museum gala is a special evening dedicated to bringing together individuals to champion the celebration, advancement and preservation of cinema.’
Homma added: ‘As we gather for a fifth year, we are honoured to recognize Penelope Cruz, Walter Salles, Bruce Springsteen and Bowen Yang – storytellers whose influence has been proven to resonate in film and beyond.
‘We are so thankful to founding supporters of the museum, including our partner Rolex, for their long-standing commitment to cinema, and our co-chairs for hosting this important event.’
American celebrities attending included Kim Kardashian, Hailey Bieber and Jenna Ortega.

The SKIMS founder donned a tan-colored gown with a corset bodice that flaunted her toned figure. The ensemble also included caped sleeves that flowed down to brush the ground.
Matching material completely covered the reality star’s head while an eye-catching diamond choker necklace was added on top.
Penelope Cruz – who was honored with the Icon Award – stunned in an off-white dress that contained sparkling rhinestone details on the material.
The ensemble was held up with thin straps that wrapped around her shoulders and contained a short train that flowed down behind her.

The romantic ceremony took place on a rocky outcrop right next to the idyllic sea, with rows of chairs laid out in front of an altar adorned with sprigs of eucalyptus leaves and baby’s breath.
Charli and George were the picture of love and devotion, as they shared a passionate kiss at the altar after becoming husband and wife for the second time.
As they walked back down the aisle to applause and confetti from the attendees, Matty could be seen getting to his feet to cheer them on.
