EastEnders actor Adam Woodyatt is speculated to join Celebrity Masterchef after spending 34 years as Ian Beale, famed for managing Kathy’s Cafe, Beale’s Plaice chippy, and a Walford East restaurant in the British soap.

The 50-year-old performer is well-known for his portrayal of the character who ran these iconic establishments in the series.

According to The Mirror, Adam intends to follow the example of ex-EastEnders actor John Partridge, who claimed victory on Celebrity Masterchef last year.

John starred as Jane Beale’s gay brother Christian Clarke for four-and-a-half years which makes him Adam’s former on-screen brother-in-law.

While John bowed out of the British soap in November 2012, Adam remains as one of the longest serving characters on Albert Square.

Adam could be healthy competition in the show as he already has A-list contacts in the food industry because his ins are sold in Marco Pierre White’s restaurants.

The soap star set up Neat Gin, which is a London Dry Gin containing eight botanicals, with his wife Beverley two years ago.

MailOnline has approached Adam Woodyatt and the BBC’s representatives for further comment.

The Mirror also claimed I’m A Celeb winner Vicky Pattison, former Gogglebox star Dom Parker, former boxing promoter Kellie Maloney and former footballer Neil Razor Ruddock and boxing champ Dillian Whyte make up the star-studded line-up.

Goals: Adam is reported to be following in the footsteps of former EastEnders star John Partridge (pictured) who won Celebrity Masterchef last year, according to The Mirror

In recent news, Adam joined his fellow EastEnders stars to run the London Marathon amid Barbara Windsor’s battle with Alzheimer’s.

Barbara’s Revolutionaries, who were rallied by the soap TV star’s husband Scott Mitchell, raised more than £100,000 for the cause.

Adam worked closely alongside Barbara when she starred as Peggy Mitchell on EastEnders until her last appearance in 2016.
