- The Edo State House of Assembly has officially removed Hon. Natasha Osawaru Irobosa, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and partner of famous Nigerian artist 2Face Idibia, from her position as Minority Leader

The Edo State House of Assembly has dismissed Hon. Natasha Osawaru Irobosa, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and partner of renowned Nigerian musician 2Face Idibia, from her role as Minority Leader.
This change is part of a broader leadership overhaul that also saw the removal of other PDP figures, including Hon. Charity Aiguobarueghian, the Majority Leader, and Hon. Yekini Idaiye, the Chief Whip. Despite these shifts, PDP members Hon. Blessing Agbebaku and Maria Edeko continue to serve as Speaker and Deputy Speaker, respectively.
The reshuffle follows a notable political shift in the Assembly, as four PDP lawmakers switched allegiance to the All Progressives Congress (APC), leading to the PDP’s loss of majority status.
Hon. Agbebaku announced that Hon. Ibhamawu Jonathan Aigbokhan (APC – Esan West) is the new Majority Leader, with Hon. Addeh Emakhu Isibor (APC – Esan North-East I) and Hon. Lecky Hussein Mustapha (APC – Etsako West I) appointed as Deputy Majority Leader and Chief Whip.
The PDP is expected to propose its own candidates for key positions in the House, while the current leadership of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker remains unchanged.
