Elle Fanning has opened up about her future family aspirations with her boyfriend of three years, Gus Wenner.

In a captivating cover feature for ELLE UK, the 27-year-old actress shared rare insights into her relationship with the 35-year-old media executive.

Fanning, who stars in the television series “Margo’s Got Money Troubles,” plays the role of a young mother. This experience has intensified her desire to start a family. She enthusiastically shared, “I’ve always just wanted that [a family]. The baby fever on ‘Margo’ was intense.”

Much like her character in the Apple TV series, Elle has a well-defined vision for her future. She expressed her ambitious mindset, saying, “You can dream up a path for yourself; a big plan of what you see your future looking like. I’m someone who does that, maybe to a fault sometimes.”

She added, “About what I want to happen or where I want to be at a certain age. Sometimes those things do come true.”

Fanning hopes these dreams will become reality with Wenner, whom she affectionately describes as “like a family member” already.

‘He’s come into my life and he grounds me. He will be like, we need to do a getaway this weekend, so he’ll plan something for us. I love him so much. He feels like a family member – like, my sister loves him, and my mom.’ 

The romantic, who started dating Gus in 2023, has been sentimental about their releationship from the get-go, admitting: ‘I’m a sucker for romance and I’m a sentimental person.’

‘I love objects and little reminders of the past to mark chapters in my life. I save every note that my boyfriend has given me.’  

Elle and Gus made their relationship official when they attended the 81st annual Golden Globe Awards together in January 2024 and most recently walked the red carpet together at the 2026 awards do.

They both come from prominent show business families, as Elle is the younger sister of actress Dakota Fanning, 31.

Gus is the son of Rolling Stone magazine co-founder Jann Wenner, 80, and currently serving as the publication’s executive chairman.

In January 2026, The Hollywood Reporter reported that the business man had launched a new business – an investment firm, Wenner Media Ventures, investing in the social media company Public Opinion.

Next up for Elle’s work life is promoting her new Apple series Margo’s Got Money Troubles, in she which Margot Millet, the daughter of a former Hooter’s waitress and an ex-professional wrestler, facing financial duress after welcoming a new baby.

The April issue of ELLE UK is on sale from 16 April

Michelle Pfeiffer plays her mother Shayanne Millet while Nick Offerman plays estranged father Jinx Millet. 

The series also stars Hollywood mainstay Nicole Kidman as well as Rico Nasty. 

Margo’s Got Money Troubles is a TV adaptation of the same-name novel written by Rufi Thorpe. 

Elle has also been busy of late shooting The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, a prequel to the smash hit book and movie franchise. 

The new movie, adapted from series author Suzanne Collins’ 2025 novel of the same name, ‘will revisit the world of Panem 24 years before the events of The Hunger Games, starting on the morning of the reaping of the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell,’ according to an official synopsis for the film.

Elle stars as a younger version of Elizabeth Bank’s character Effie Trinket, alongside an all-star cast which also features Kieran Culkin as Caesar Flickerman, Maya Hawke as Wiress, Jesse Plemons as Plutarch Heavensbee and Ralph Fiennes as President Coriolanus Snow.

The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping is in cinemas in November.
