Elon Musk Trashes 'SNL' Over Skit Mocking Tesla Vandalism & Tariffs: 'They Are Their Own Parody'

Elon Musk has responded to a recent “Saturday Night Live” skit featuring Mike Myers reprising his impersonation of the tech billionaire.

On the show, Myers as Musk referenced recent vandalism of Tesla products, saying it’s “because of” Musk the company has suffered such fate, and that the new Tesla Model V is “the first electric car in history to be fully self-vandalizing.”

“SNL” also recently poked fun at President Trump’s administration over the U.S. “war plans” that were leaked when a senior adviser accidentally added The Atlantic’s editor-in-chief to the Signal group chat.

‘SNL’ Roasts Elon Musk And Donald Trump

Myers reprised his role as Musk in the latest episode of “Saturday Night Live” skit where he took subtle digs at the tech boss.

Myers, who has now parodied Musk on the show for the third time this year, was joined by James Austin Johnson, who portrayed Trump as they both mocked the president’s tariff plan.

On the show, Johnson’s Trump said the country “has to send a message to countries who have been ripping us off, like South Africa, [which] puts a 60% tariff on everything we send them, and they’ve never even sent us one good thing,” prompting Myers to appear onstage as Musk while wearing a giant cheese-shaped headpiece in reference to the billionaire’s recent event in Wisconsin.

“Elon is great, but sadly, it’s time to never see you again, okay?” Johnson’s Trump told Myers’ Musk, adding, “You gotta get back to Tesla, right? Cause they’re doing pretty bad.”

In response, Myers said, “Yes. Recently, our dealerships have been the target of many attacks, and suddenly, no one likes Tesla cars. So I asked myself why, and then I answered myself, ‘Because of me,’ which is why we’re introducing the new Tesla Model V, the first electric car in history to be fully self-vandalizing.”

Elon Musk Hits Back At ‘SNL’ Over Tesla Skit

After the “Saturday Night Live” episode aired, Musk swiftly hit back at the show for its brutal skit.

The Tesla boss took to his X account to respond to a post highlighting Myers’ comments on Tesla cars being “the first electric car in history to be fully self-vandalizing.”

“SNL hasn’t been funny in a long time,” Musk wrote, adding, “They are their own parody.”

His comments received much support from social media users.

One wrote, “They are desperate. It is crazy how far out of the way someone will go to try to make someone else not like you.”

Another added, “Geeze, I can’t imagine what it feels like to be you, Elon, and have to put with all this nonsense.”

However, some slammed Musk for seemingly being offended by the joke, with one person writing, “It’s pretty funny actually. No knee-jerk reactions, guys; let’s not be like them. Comedy is legal again on both sides.”

Musk was also quite put off by Myers’ debut performance as him after the iconic actor joined “SNL” to poke fun at Trump and J.D. Vance’s Oval Office incident with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

At the time, Myers, dressed as Musk in black jeans, a blazer, and a graphic t-shirt, interrupted the Oval Office meeting, wielding a chainsaw just like the billionaire did on stage at the Conservative Political Action Conference in January.

“Donald, what are you doing in my office?” Myers, as Musk asked in the skit. “You know I’m the president now, right?”

Imitating Musk at a Trump rally last year, Myers jumped up and down while copying his hand gestures.

“They’re saying I’m firing people with no cause. But I do have cause, it’s ’cause’ I feel like it,” Myers as Musk joked.

The SpaceX CEO quickly hit back at the skit, writing on X, “Humor fails when it lies.”

‘SNL’ Ripped Trump Officials Over Signal Chat Scandal

The comedy show recently ripped into President Trump’s administration for the way details of a U.S. “plan” to attack Houthi rebels in Yemen was leaked from a group chat containing senior advisors.

In the skit, host Mikey Madison was joined by Ego Nwodim and Sarah Sherman, as they played teenagers in a group chat that was crashed by Andrew Dismukes as Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Bowen Yang as Vice President J.D. Vance.

The cast attempted to parody the moment when senior advisers in Trump’s administration accidentally added journalist Jeffrey Goldberg to a group chat, in which they discussed U.S. “war plans.”

Elsewhere in the episode, Colin Jost took jabs at the incident during the Weekend Update segment.

“This week, we learned our entire National Security team has the texting skills of my aunt Janet,” Jost joked.

Meanwhile, massive protests against Trump and Musk have erupted around the country.

The action organized by a pro-democracy movement took place on Saturday across all 50 states in response to what they call a “hostile takeover” and attack on American rights and freedoms.

According to CNN, over 1400 of “Hands Off!” mass-action protests were held at state capitols, federal buildings, congressional offices, Social Security headquarters, parks, and city halls throughout the entire country.

Organizers say they have three demands: “an end to the billionaire takeover and rampant corruption of the Trump administration; an end to slashing federal funds for Medicaid, Social Security, and other programs working people rely on; and an end to the attacks on immigrants, trans people, and other communities.”
