Emma Stone revisited the embarrassing moment she had with her mother and Angelina Jolie in a new interview with Vogue.

The 36-year-old actress reminisced about taking her mom, Krista Stone, as her date to the 2011 Golden Globes and sharing a table with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

‘That was a really, really fun night because I brought my mom and we sat next to Angelina Jolie and she asked Angelina Jolie if she had any kids,’ the Poor Things star recalled.

It is widely known that Angelina and her now-ex-husband Brad share a brood of six children, making Krista’s starstruck moment particularly funny.

‘The Golden Globes is kind of like these big, round tables, and it feels as though you’re constantly meeting all these people you’ve only seen on TV or in films,’ Emma explained about the celebrity-studded event.

She quipped, ‘Everybody’s shorter than you think they are. Except for Conan O’Brien, who’s seven-and-a-half-feet tall.’

Emma had previously told the story in more detail while appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in 2020. 

Reflecting on the experience of sitting with the Hollywood luminaries, she said: ‘We were like, “Of all the people to be sitting near at that kind of show, whoa.”

She added, ‘My mom never drinks and she had champagne that night, which was probably not the best idea, but she was having a wonderful time.’ 

The silver screen siren went on to explain how her mom ‘completely knew’ Angelina had kids, but feigned ignorance as she leaned into small talk. 

‘She knew everything. But they were so nice. We had a blast. That was a very fun night,’ Emma emphasized.

Elsewhere in the Vogue clip, which featured the actress unpacking her fashion throughout her career, she dissected her look at the 2011 awards show.

She expressed regret over spray tan, which was nearly the same shade of her peach-toned dress.

‘I look like one solid thumb,’ the Superbad star joked.

‘And that dress was so pretty,’ she remarked. ‘I just — why did I decide to match my skin tone to the dress?’

The mom-of-one continued, ‘That’s what bums me out about this… is it’s such a beautiful dress, such a beautiful shape, and I just… I really thought that the tan was the move.

She is Vogue’s September cover star, and inside the pages of the glossy she made rare comments about her four-year-old daughter Louise Jean, whom she shares with husband Dave McCary.

‘There’s nothing I feel luckier about,’ Stone gushed, adding, ‘She’s the greatest gift of my life, for sure.’
