British socialite Emma Weymouth became the most recent celebrity to be voted off Celebrity MasterChef on Thursday, and fans observed that she seemed to mask her disappointment.

The 38-year-old Marchioness of Bath  got the boot from the all-star cooking competition just ahead of the quarter finals.

In the most recent episode, she faced off against singer, actor and presenter Jake Quickenden, actor Tamer Hassan, and comedian Jamie MacDonald.

Despite tackling three tough kitchen challenges, Emma was unable to impress judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace sufficiently to secure her spot in the next round.

The episode kicked off with an unusual challenge where the four enthusiastic celebrities were divided into two teams: Tamer and Emma formed one pair, while Jake and Jamie constituted the other.

The teams had to both work on a dish each, but only one half of the pairing was allowed to look at the recipe and was tasked with instructing their partner.

Jake instructed Jamie as they made spiced quail with yassa sauce, cassava chips and rice. Meanwhile, Emma guided Tamer as they cooked up  grilled jerk chicken, with rice and peas, mango coleslaw and dumplings.

After the largely successful communication challenge, the contestants were sent to two professional kitchens to try their hand at a busy lunch service.

Then, the final task of the episode saw the hopeful celebrities back in the MasterChef kitchen as they each prepared a signature dish for their own food truck.

Jake whipped up a tempura taco dish, Tamer made a lamb kebab, and Jamie opted for a chicken burger – all of which impressed the judges.

However, Emma’s summer rolls fell short, which cost her her place in the quarter finals.

She prepared marinated chicken thighs and pickled vegetables, wrapped in rice paper but the judges struggled to taste any chilli in her dish.

‘The major flavour in there is corriander, I don’t pick up any chilli heat,’ admitted Greg, ‘I would have liked a little bit of chilli’.

After finding out that she had lost her place in the show, Emma said: ‘None of this has felt real at all. I can’t believe I did it.

‘I’m proud of myself for doing what I’ve done. I’m happy to go home to my kids and my husband and have a rest.’

Meanwhile, the other three contestants cheered as the judges announced they would be quarter finalists.

Fans of the BBC One programme took to X (formerly Twitter) to share their reactions to socialite Emma leaving the show and the others remaining, writing:

‘Some celebrities can conceal their disdain at being voted out – then there’s Emma…..#celebritymasterchef’

‘All 4 did well this is gonna be hard #celebritymasterchef’

‘Emma didn’t think she was leaving…..#MasterChef’

‘So much respect for Jamie, can’t even imagine how difficult this is for him & he takes it all in his stride so calmly #celebritymasterchef’

‘Jamie is simply wonderful #CelebrityMasterChef’

‘Cringing at Jake Quickenden on tonight’s #celebritymasterchef! Imagine being in a professional kitchen & whinging- constantly- that the grill is ‘too hot’ & ruining multiple portions of expensive salmon?! So unnecessary!’

‘Can’t believe Emma is out . Definitely not right.’
