Brentford striker Ivan Toney joked about manager Thomas Frank “not wanting him” amidst transfer speculation.

Toney who recently returned from a betting rule ban, stated this following the club’s 2-0 win over Wolves on Saturday.

The 27-year-old English profesional who has been linked with Chelsea and Arsenal, has been the subject of transfer rumours in recent months.

Meanwhile, earlier, Frank had acknowledged that Toney is likely to be sold in the summer, stating, “It’s quite obvious that Toney will most likely be sold in the summer.”

Frank also emphasized Toney’s value, noting that he will have only a year left on his contract by summer.

After the win over Wolves, Toney responded to Frank’s comments, saying, “I see that as he doesn’t want me! The manager has said what he’s said but I can’t make clubs come and get me.

“I’ve just got to keep doing what I do and that’s score goals. What will be will be,” Toney said.

While Brentford did not receive any bids for Toney in January, club officials expect interest in the striker when the summer transfer window opens.

Toney’s performance has been impressive, scoring his third Premier League goal in four games to seal the win against Wolves.
