Eva Mendes recently shared a surprising confession about which of her partner, Ryan Gosling’s, co-stars has sparked a twinge of jealousy. Mendes, known for her candid and humorous style, revealed it wasn’t one of the many acclaimed actresses Gosling has worked with, but rather an unexpected contender.

Gosling, 45, boasts an impressive filmography that includes collaborations with Hollywood stars such as Margot Robbie, Emma Stone, and Emily Blunt. However, it’s an animated character from his latest project that has caught Mendes’ attention.

The character in question is an alien named Rocky, featured in the upcoming Amazon MGM Studios sci-fi film “Project Hail Mary.” Scheduled to hit theaters on March 20, the movie follows Dr. Grace (played by Gosling) as he teams up with Rocky to avert planetary extinction—an ambitious mission fraught with potential mishaps, according to the official synopsis.

In a light-hearted twist, Mendes took to Instagram on Monday to express her playful envy on a JustJared post promoting the film. With her signature wit, she commented, “His only co-star I’ve ever been jealous of…Rocky. They spent wayyy too much time together. They even got each other’s rings. WTF!!? ♥️♥️♥️♥️.”

Through her humorous remarks, Mendes adds a personal and entertaining spin to the anticipation surrounding Gosling’s latest cinematic adventure.

She joked, ‘His only costar I’ve ever been jealous of…Rocky. They spent wayyy too much time together. They even got each others rings. WTF!!? ♥️♥️♥️♥️.’

Gosling is never shy about expressing his love for Mendes when given the chance. 

In 2023 the actor revealed he hadn’t planned on having a family until he met her.

‘I wasn’t thinking about kids before I met her, but after I met Eva, I realized that I just didn’t want to have kids without her,’ he told GQ at the time.

The twosome fell in love in 2011 while filming the thriller The Place Beyond the Pines.  

In the magazine interview he discussed parenting with Mendes, and sweetly gushed that before meeting her, ‘I was looking for her, you know?’ adding that ‘it all makes sense now.’

In 2020 Mendes wrote on Instagram, ‘I have always had a clear boundary when it comes to my man and my kids. I’ll talk about them of course, with limits, but I won’t post pictures of our daily life.’ 

While promoting his movie The Fall Guy in May 2024, Gosling told Extra about Mendes: ‘She is with the girls, and when she works, I stay home with the girls too.’

He added, ‘She’s also like my acting coach. She has really become the best acting coach I have ever had. It’s endless how she helps me.’

‘They love the laid-back lifestyle in London,’ a source told Radar Online in December. ‘It’s easy for them to move around unrecognized there.’

According to insiders, the family has been living in an exclusive enclave popular with A-listers, with neighbors said to include the likes of Harry Styles, Jude Law and Emma Thompson.
