Fahim Saleh, a 33-year-old tech mogul, was found brutally murdered in his luxury apartment on the Lower East Side of Manhattan on July 14, 2020.
Sahel’s body was discovered in a shocking state. His torso was on a tarp, and his limbs were in garbage bags nearby. A battery-operated saw, used in the dismemberment, was found at the scene. According to the medical examiner, Sahel had been fatally stabbed.
The grim scene was uncovered by his cousin, who had visited Sahel. She used a key fob to access the elevator that led directly into his apartment, which encompassed the entire seventh floor.
Detectives noted both the brutality and the meticulous cleanliness of the crime scene. “This was very calculated, very planned out,” commented Steven Stiller, who was a detective with the New York City Police Department’s 7th Precinct at the time.
“This was something diabolical. It was like out of a season of Dexter,” Stiller said in “The Masked Assassin” episode of New York Homicide, airing Saturdays at 9/8c p.m. on .
