Phil Foden’s stunning hat-trick led Manchester City to a comeback victory against Brentford, trailing just two points behind Premier League leaders.

Despite Brentford taking an early lead through Neal Maupay, Foden’s heroics secured the crucial win for the reigning champions.

Foden’s performance was especially remarkable given the presence of Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne in the City lineup for the first time since August last year.

Meanwhile, the match marked the highest-scoring round of ten Premier League matches in history, with a total of 45 goals.

Despite not scoring himself, Haaland’s return to the starting lineup added to City’s attacking threat.

While City are still chasing Liverpool at the top of the table, they have a game in hand, which could prove crucial for them in the title race.
