Huddersfield Town Women are hoping to break their attendance record as they return to the John Smith’s Stadium to host Everton in the FA Cup fourth round on Sunday 30th January.
Town return to league action this Sunday for their away trip to Hull City Ladies, but have a huge task coming up as Barclays FA Women’s Super League side Everton come to West Yorkshire for a first-ever meeting between these two clubs.
Glen Preston’s side defeated Sir Tom Finney’s Ladies, Sheffield FC Ladies and Loughborough Lightning comfortably to reach this point of the competition, whilst Everton enter the competition for the first time at this stage.
Subject to covid-19 guidelines and rule changes, Town Women’s are looking to smash their attendance record of 1,115 at the John Smith’s Stadium for the upcoming fixture.
Town Women chair Alison Bamforth elaborated, saying: “The whole club are incredibly excited to have the privilege of welcoming Jean-Luc Vasseur and his Everton side to Huddersfield.
“We are delighted that our players once again have an opportunity to test themselves against WSL opposition, building on the experience of playing Brighton & Hove Albion WFC in last year’s Vitality Women’s FC Cup 5th round.
“I would like to extend huge thanks to Huddersfield Town AFC for hosting the game at the John Smith’s stadium and would love to see the whole of Huddersfield out in force to be that ‘12th man’ and perhaps help generate a bit of FA Cup magic!”
Ticket details and a kick-off time will be announced at a later date.
