Following a star-filled 10-episode season, The Studio Season 1 concluded with an exciting finale fueled by a gripping CinemaCon chant, leaving fans eagerly anticipating a second season.
This critically-acclaimed comedy, known for its bold humor, features stars like Seth Rogen, Catherine O’Hara, Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz, Chase Sui Wonders, and Bryan Cranston. The show revolves around Matt Remick (played by Rogen), the new head of Continental Studios, as he strives to create high-quality films that are also box office successes, pleasing the studio and its executives.
In the Season 1 finale, titled “The Presentation,” Remick and his team face high creative stakes at CinemaCon in Episode 10. He must deliver an exceptional presentation or risk having the studio sold to a tech company, thus shattering his dreams. As the Season 1 finale credits roll, viewers gain insight into the studio’s future, raising questions: Is this the end of Remick’s journey, or has Apple TV+ approved The Studio Season 2?
Curious if Apple TV+ canceled or renewed Rogen’s razor-sharp comedy? Wondering what The Studio Season 2 could look like? How many episodes will be in The Studio Season 2? Or when The Studio Season 2 is set to premiere? We’ve got answers.
Here’s everything to know about the future of The Studio.
Will There Be A The Studio Season 2 On Apple TV+?
Great news, The Studio stans! On May 6, ahead of the comedy’s eighth episode, Apple TV+ renewed The Studio for Season 2, or as the streamer put it, “Matt Remick scores a win for Continental Studios!” That said, true fans know that all thanks go to Sal Saperstein.
“We’re thrilled to be making a second season of The Studio,” said creators and executive producers Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg in a press release. “We’re looking forward to taking the lived experience of making Season 1 and immediately putting it into Season 2, then repeating that loop for 10 more seasons. And, we’re excited to keep all our industry friends and colleagues guessing as to when one of their personal stories will stream on Apple TV+.”
“Seth, Evan, and the entire creative team and cast of The Studio have knocked it out of the park with this brilliant show, and it has been incredible to watch the conversation grow with each new episode,” added Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+. “We can’t wait to see where Matt Remick takes Continental Studios in Season 2, and hope for his sake that the Kool-Aid movie crushes at the box office.”
In the spirit of cinema, Apple TV+ even released a 16-second Season 2 announcement:
The Studio Season 2 Premiere Date: When Does The Studio Return With New Episodes?
As of The Studio‘s Season 1 finale date, an official Season 2 premiere date had yet to be announced. But assuming the series will want to aim for a new season a year, fans could potentially see new episodes in 2026 — potentially another March drop.
While we wait for more The Studio Season 2 updates, fans who are eager to watch more Seth on their screens can mark their calendars for the return of his other Apple TV+ series, Platonic which premieres its sophomore season on August 6, 2025.
How Many Episodes Will Be In The Studio Season 2?
An official episode count for The Studio Season 2 has yet to be confirmed, but it’s likely the sophomore season will consist of 10 episodes, just like Season 1.
The Studio Season 1 Ending Explained: What Will The Studio Season 2 Look Like?
The Studio‘s out of control penultimate episode party leaves Griffin Mill high as a kite, the team stressing over the idea of Continental Studios being sold to Amazon, and Patty calling Matt Belloni to report “the scoop of the year.” In the Season 1 finale, Patty’s revenge plan is sidelined when the team comes together and tries to sober Griffin up — or rather, Weekend at Bernie’s him — before Belloni realizes what’s wrong. Unfortunately, with the presentation quickly approaching, both Griffin and Zoë Kravitz are too high on shrooms (and some cocaine!) to fully function and Dave Franco gets beaten bloody before his stage entrance. Nevertheless, everyone persists. And against all odds, the Continental Studios team dominates CinemaCon with the staff and crowd closing the presentation in a “MOVIES!” chant inspired by a barely conscious Griffin Mill. Beautiful! Hilarious! Inspiring! An iconic cliffhanger!
The Studio Season 2 will undoubtedly welcome more impressive guest stars as Griffin, Matt, and the Continental Studios teams continues their moviemaking pursuits in the face of industry chaos that will undoubtedly make great comedy. But it will also reveal if the presentation was good enough to prevent the sale, if Kool-Aid will really be the next Barbie, and more answers to Season 1 questions.
The Studio Season 1 is now streaming on Apple TV+.
