There was a lot to unpack on this morning’s episode of The View — and one co-host was noticeably missing from the chat.
This morning, Whoopi Goldberg was absent from her usual spot, as she typically works from Monday to Thursday. Joy Behar, who generally takes Mondays off, stepped in as the moderator to lead a conversation about President Donald Trump’s recent decision to bomb nuclear sites in Iran. Ana Navarro filled Behar’s regular position at the center of the Hot Topics table.
The last appearance made by Goldberg was during last Thursday’s (June 18) episode of The View. During that episode, she had a debate with Alyssa Farah Griffin, arguing that life for Black people in America is equally challenging as it is for citizens in Iran.
So, why wasn’t Goldberg on The View today? And when will she be back? Luckily, we have you covered. Keep reading for everything we know!
Is Whoopi Goldberg still on The View?
Indeed, Goldberg remains a co-host on The View! She simply wasn’t present on today’s show. Behar explained Goldberg’s absence right at the beginning of the broadcast, sharing that the EGOT winner is currently in Italy to receive an award for her memoir, Bits and Pieces: My Mother, My Brother, and Me.
“We are all jealous of Whoopi today because she’s in Italy. I hope it’s 100 degrees,” Behar joked. “She’s in Italy accepting an award for her book Bits and Pieces so she will be out this week.”
When is Whoopi Goldberg coming back to The View?
According to Behar, Goldberg will be out this entire week, meaning we likely won’t see her back at the Hot Topics table until Monday, June 30.
